Trading Account Growth & Compounding Calculator

Plan How Your Trading Account Could Grow

Trying to understand how a trading account could grow over time? Grow My Account combines a trading compounding calculator with an editable account growth forecast.

Instead of assuming the same fixed return every day or month, you can model growth using trading-specific metrics including account balance, risk per trade, reward-to-risk, win rate and trade results.

Adjust the figures, explore different scenarios and build a downloadable 12-month trading account growth plan to help keep your goals visible and your progress on track.

How Does Compounding Work in Trading?

Trading compounding happens when profits remain in the account and future trade sizes are calculated from the new account balance.

For example, if a £10,000 account risks 1%, the amount at risk is £100. If a profitable trade adds £200 and the balance becomes £10,200, the same 1% risk would now equal £102.

As the account grows, percentage-based position sizing can gradually increase the monetary value of future trades. The process also works in reverse: if the account balance falls, the same percentage risk produces a smaller monetary risk.

This is why trading compounding is different from simply assuming a fixed daily or monthly return.

How to Grow a Trading Account

Growing a trading account is not simply about trying to make larger profits.

Risk per trade, position sizing, win rate, reward-to-risk, losing streaks and consistency all affect how an account develops over time.

Trying to grow too quickly can increase risk just as quickly. A more useful approach is to model different scenarios, understand what your trading statistics could mean over a longer period and regularly compare your actual results with your plan.

Compounding can make consistent growth more powerful over time, but it cannot remove trading risk or guarantee a future balance.

Build a 12-Month Trading Account Growth Plan

A forecast becomes more useful when you can turn it into something you can follow.

Use Grow My Account to adjust your assumptions, explore different outcomes and create a yearly account growth plan based on the figures you choose.

You can then download your 12-month plan and use it as a reference throughout the year.

If your trading performance changes, return to the calculator, edit your forecast metrics and build a revised plan.

The goal is not to predict exactly what your account will be worth. It is to give yourself a structured target, understand the numbers behind it and stay focused on the process required to reach it.

Use Trading Calculators to Plan Your Growth

Account growth starts with understanding the numbers behind individual trades.

Use the Position Size & Lot Size Calculator to calculate trade size from your chosen risk.

Use the Risk / Reward Calculator to compare the amount at risk with the potential reward.

Use the Pip Value Calculator to understand the monetary value of price movement.

Use the Profit / Loss Calculator to estimate the possible outcome of a trade.
